New Ukrainian Saints: Recalling history in a Knot-Shell
Recently, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Moscow Patriarchate, glorified two new Ukrainian Saints and further glorified a new miracle-working Icon of the Mother of God. One of the Saints canonized recalls a painful period of Ukrainian Church history. And it is said that the lessons of history must be learned, lest we be doomed to repeat them again. more

Saint Demetrius of Rostov wrote: "First of all it must be understood that it is the duty of all Christians..to strive always and in every way to be united with God, their Creator, Lover, Benefactor and their Supreme Good, by whom and for whom they were created."  A simple answer to the question of why we are here and where we are going.  But sometimes not that simple to live by.  Failure is part of our process of getting there.  St. John Climacus whom we honour this Fourth Sunday of Lent has written: “Do not be surprised that you fall every day; do not give up, but stand your ground courageously.  And assuredly, the angel who guards you will honour your patience.”  Consistence and persistence, inspired by the Love of God Who created us and Who continually looks after us, will bring us to the goal for which we were made: union with God! see article in Ukrainian
